Located in Palm Desert, this complete bathroom transforms a dated 1980s layout into a luxurious, spa-like retreat. The original space, defined by glass block walls, poor lighting, and a hazardous step-down shower, lacked both function and aesthetic cohesion.
Inspired by the client’s travels through Asia and Africa, the design draws heavily on Moroccan influences, blending artisanal materials with modern comfort. The layout was fully reconfigured to accommodate a walk-in shower wrapped in Zellige tile, a soaking tub positioned for stargazing, and a generous vanity with custom arched niches.
Color drenching the space in a rich green creates an intimate, grounding atmosphere, while imported lighting and a living wall enhance the indoor-outdoor connection. The result is a refined Palm Desert interior that feels both transportive and deeply restorative.
