Renee was a pleasure to work with and has great vision. We were doing a total rehab of a recently purchased property and she was able to look at a gutted out '50s cottage and turn it into a beautiful mid-century modern home. She understood our budget and timeline and was good about narrowing all our options down to just a few choices. This expedited the process, made it less difficult and more enjoyable. Once the rehab is done, we look forward to working with her again and finish the rest of the rooms.
Renee at Mandeville Canyon Interior Design was simply wonderful to work with. She was able to understand what we were looking for in terms of color, function and design from the moment we first spoke. She's easy to work with, goes above and beyond and delivers an outstanding design.
I highly recommend Renee and Mandeville Canyon Interior Design. I don't think I will attempt to decorate another room in my house without the help of Renee!
Love working with Renee and Mandeville Canyon Interior Design ! I had the opportunity to collaborate on a large scale design project recently and the results were fantastic! Creative, resourceful and one of kind design ideas made this design opportunity with Renee "one of a kind" Have a large or small project? You won't be disappointed!!
Renee not only has an amazingly creative eye, she also directed a massive renovation for us this past year that included the challenges of operating during the pandemic. She put together a team that had an incredible work ethic and brought the project in on-time and on-budget. She's a great listener. When we threw ideas at her, she was never dismissive; quite the contrary, she made them better. Her patience, attention to detail combined with her whacky sense of humor meant we were all able to smile while producing a home that we love. A great talent and a great lady.
Rene is amazing! Great customer care and wonderful attention to detail.
With deep roots on the West Coast and an established presence throughout the Coachella Valley, Renee Carman brings decades of experience designing for desert living to every Palm Desert project.
Her nature-inspired, biophilic approach is especially suited to the region: bringing the outdoors in, softening strong desert light, and creating a true sense of retreat. From full-service renovations to seasonal and second-home projects, each design is tailored to how you actually live in the desert, not just how a space photographs.

We recommend reaching out several months ahead of when you'd like to start, particularly for full-home remodels or projects that need to coordinate with a builder's schedule.
Our Coachella Valley work spans desert modern and mid-century architecture as well as warmer, Spanish hacienda-influenced homes. Every project is tailored to the home's architecture and the client's lifestyle, so no two results look the same.
An interior decorator typically focuses on surface-level finishes, furniture, and styling. An interior designer, like Renee, is trained to also consider space planning, function, and how a home is built, which matters most on renovation and full-home projects where structure and layout are part of the work.
Yes. We regularly design for homes in country club and gated communities throughout the Valley and are familiar with navigating HOA and architectural review requirements as part of the project timeline.
Both are possible. We collaborate closely with your builder or contractor if you already have one, and we also have an established network of trusted Coachella Valley tradespeople and artisans we can bring in as needed.
Yes. We partner with architects and builders from the ground up so that interior design, space planning, and material selections are integrated into the build from the start, rather than added at the end.
Our process covers everything from initial discovery and vision-setting through design development, construction collaboration, and final installation and styling, so the experience is seamless from the first conversation to move-in day.
Yes. While much of our work involves full-home renovations, kitchen and bathroom projects are among the most requested standalone engagements we take on, and we bring the same level of care and craftsmanship regardless of project size.
Yes. Many of our Coachella Valley clients split their time between homes or use their property as a vacation rental, and we design with that in mind: comfort and durability for the owner, and a polished, photograph-ready feel for guests.
We work throughout Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, La Quinta, and Palm Springs, with select projects further into the Valley.
